The approach a candidate chooses will depend on their profile, which includes their age, language proficiency (English and/or French), work experience, and other qualifications. You will learn everything you need to know in this post about using the Canada Experience Class (CEC) option to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

What the Canada Experience Class

One of the three express entry programs for immigration to Canada managed by the Federal Express Entry Framework is the Canada Experience Class. Planned specifically for qualified employees who need to obtain Canada Permanent Residence and have either worked in Canada or are now working here with a temporary work permit (PR). Such tenants are allowed by CEC to get permanent residency permits, which allow them to live and work permanently in Canada and eventually become citizens of that country. How to apply for Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The steps to apply for the Canada Experience Class are as follows:

1. Get a Canadian work permit.

Obtaining a temporary work visa that allows you to work in Canada on a temporary basis is the first stage in obtaining a Canada Experience Class permit. There are many ways to obtain this, including an open work permit or a restricted work permit. Open work permits may be the best option for individuals who qualify for the International Experience Canada (IEC) program or who are the spouse or common-law partner of international students or foreign employees, whereas closed/specific work permits are best for individuals who have completed a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and those who are eligible for intra-company transfers. 2. Get one year working experience in Canada

You should have essentially worked as a skilled worker for at least a year in Canada in order to be eligible for the Canada Experience Class. The positions should conform to the NOC models for O, A, or B jobs. This does not include work performed while an understudy full-time. You can use the experience you’ve gained while working on a temporary visa, such as a Working Occasion Visa.

3. Be Eligible

When you have satisfied the aforementioned requirements, you are eligible for the Canada Experience Class. You can sit for exams in Canadian languages like the TEF for French or the IELTS for English. You are urged to enroll in ECA as soon as possible because it takes time to complete.

4. Create Your Online Express Entry Profile

To be eligible for the Canada Experience Class (CEC), which is administered by Federal Express Entry (EE), you must first build an online profile. Using CRS criterion, your profile will receive a score of over 1200. Age, job history, linguistic proficiency, education, and other characteristics are used to determine the score. Through drawings performed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the successful applicants are invited to submit an application for permanent residency in Canada (IRCC). Every detail must be included because it will affect your score. Canadian Experience Class Route

5. Get your documents ready

As previously said, the cycle moves quickly. In order to present your application within 60 days after receiving your Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian PR, you are required to gather your archives and prepare them.

6. Get your certification

As previously mentioned, the Canada Experience Class is processed quickly and might be finished in less than four months. As a result, you will always receive an affirmation message. This is evidence that you have received an offer for a PR visa in Canada. With this, you can live anywhere you want, save Quebec, which has a particular preference for skilled jobs.

Valid Work Experience for CEC in Canada

The specialized work experience ought to be compensated. The work does not include self-employed labor done while enrolled in school full-time. Non-paid volunteer and internship labor is not taken into consideration. The advantage is that you can use either a full-time or part-time job, but work completed after 30 hours per week is not taken into account.

Canadian Experience Class Express Entry Draws

For the CIC candidates with the highest rankings, IRCC held a lottery. Candidates who achieved a certain point total above the Comprehensive Ranking System are eligible for the EE draws. The draw is held on a regular basis for different successful candidates. Depending on the number of qualified candidates, you might be invited to the draw if your score is higher than the base CRS. Therefore, it’s critical that you earn all necessary points and achieve a high CRS ranking in order to have a strong chance of winning the draw. An Invitation to Apply (ITA) establishes a candidate’s eligibility for Canada PR.

Benefits of using Canada Experience Class for PR

There are many benefits of applying for PR under CEC. Some of the benefits including:

  • The choice of residence outside Quebec.
  • It is easy for the candidates as it takes lesser amount of time to get compared to other forms of PR.
  • You also don’t have to show any proof of settlement of funds. For you to apply for PR under other programs under the Express Entry system, you must have proof of settlement of funds but it is not required under CEC. So, candidates applying for PR through this do not have to worry about that.
